The board of the International Biathlon Union met on June 3, 2018 in Austria, and at the meeting the competition organizers of the 2019-2020 World Cup were decided. Kontiolahti is again in the World Cup calendar and the time of the games is March 9-15, 2020. The IBU Cup originally planned for Kontiolahti will move to Minsk, Belarus. In the 2018-2019 competition season, Kontiolahti will not organize a World Cup competition.
