Kontiolahti's biathlon season starts with the GP games

National team and Olympic biathletes will face each other this weekend in Kontiolahti. The 2021-22 World Cup season starts on November 27 in Östersund, Sweden.

About 130 competitors have signed up for Saturday's fast trips and about 120 competitors for Sunday's normal trips and shortened normal trips (N+N22, M+M22).

All members of the national team have signed up for the women's competition, with Mari Eder, Erika Jänkä, Nastassia Kinnusen and Suvi Minkkinen .

In the men's series, the battle of the Kontiolahti Athletes trio Otto-Eemil Karvinen, Heikki Laitisen and Joni Mustonen, who skied to the top in the Vuokatti display competition last Sunday, will be contested, among others < With strong>Tuomas Harjula, Jaakko Rannan and Olli Hiidensalo. Tero Seppälä, who was already named as Finland's representative for the World Cup, is not participating.

Saturday's sprint race can be followed live on Sanomalehti Karjalainen's website from 10:50 a.m. There are age groups from juniors under 13 to men over 65. The men's sprint race starts at 11 a.m. and the women's sprint race at 12 p.m.
