The Masters competitions will be moved to 2022

The traditional Masters competition, which was planned to be held on March 17-21, 2021, will have to be postponed to the next competition season. The competitions will be held in March 2022, but the exact date will be specified in summer/autumn 2021.

The reason for the transfer is the continuation of the challenging corona situation in different countries. As a result, arriving in Finland from several countries will not be possible in the coming months. In addition, organizing the event would require applying for an exception permit. If the exemption were approved, participants would be required to undergo corona tests both in the country of origin and in Finland. Finnish athletes participating in the Games should also be tested. These measures would significantly increase the expenses of the participants, as well as the organizers.

In any case, the official decisions regarding the organization of the event would be at the end of February, so the Kontiolahti race organization does not want to prolong the decision-making close to the race event.

We regret the situation, but we believe that in the winter of 2022 we will be able to compete again under the Masters brand.
