Sweden Rose to Victory in Final Shooting in Single Mixed Relay, Finland 11th

Ella Halvarsson and Sebastian Samuelsson celebrated victory in Single Mixed Relay in the World Cup opening at Kontiolahti.

The Swedes got through the race with four spare rounds.

France and Germany fought hard for second place, which turned into France's advantage in photo finish. They finished 10,2 seconds behind Sweden. Finland placed 11th.

Samuelsson settled the race in the final, clean shooting.

Thus, he passed France's Quentin Fillon Maillet, who had the lead but needed three spare rounds in the standing stage.

- I felt good. It was a great fight. It is always good to have a nice start. If you win, you are happy and can build for the next races, savored Samuelsson.

Halvarsson raced in her very first Single Mixed Relay on the World Cup level.

- I was less nervous than I thought but still quite nervous, Halvarsson described her feelings of suspense with a smile.

"A Lot of Good"

The Finnish team consisted of Suvi Minkkinen and Otto Invenius.

The duo finished 1.41,4 behind the winners.

Invenius had to do a penalty loop after the standing stage, and the team needed a total of nine spare rounds.

- There was a lot of good and some room for improvement.

I am a bit upset that I fumbled with the spare rounds, but the physical side left a good feeling, said Minkkinen.

Invenius was otherwise satisfied with his shooting, but the final standing stage was difficult.

- I believe it had to do with my skiing pace. I was at my limits on the track the whole time. It was nice I got to race in the first event at home, said Invenius and told that he was heading onwards feeling good.
