The biathlon stadium's Cafe Napakymppi opened a terrace - open every day until the end of July

The Kontiolahti biathlon stadium's Cafe Napakymppi has opened a summer terrace for the first time in its history.

“A wider selection of ice creams and refreshments, self-baked croissants and other pastries than before. The terrace in the inner courtyard has attracted customers, especially on hot days", introduces Tiina Savolainen of the cafe service, which will be renewed this summer.

Altaa 14 different flavors

According to Savolainen, there are better snacks for the summer ice cream season than ever, because the selection for summer 2022 is even wider. Special diets are more prominent than before in ice creams as well.

"Currently, the ice cream pool has 14 different flavors and products. The clear hit of the early summer has been mint ice cream. The selection of lactose-free pacifiers is clearly wider, there is also a new product for vegans," says Savolainen.

During the heat, we live in the peak season for popsicles and ice creams.

"On warm days, the turnover is many times higher," says Savolainen.

The exerciser reverses the drink 

Savolainen divides the summer customers of Kahvila Napakympi into two main groups.

“Mountain bikers, equipment renters and other fitness enthusiasts are primarily looking for cool drinks. Tourists getting to know the stadium and the wall climbing, guests of the weekly program activities and families stay more often and enjoy the pastries. Of course, the ice cream sinks for everyone."

The service desk of Kontiolahti Outdoor's equipment rental company is also in Kahvila Napakympi in June-July.

“There are more and more people trying electric mountain bikes. Fortunately, we received 14 electric mountain bikes for this summer, which makes it easier to have enough equipment even at the most popular times," says Savolainen.

Cafe Napakymppi in the main building of the Kontiolahti biathlon stadium, open every day in July from 10 am to 6 pm.
