Professional tips for mountain bike maintenance training in October at the Kontiolahti Biathlon Stadium

At the end of October, a one-night training will be held at the Kontiolahti Biathlon Stadium for those interested in basic mountain bike maintenance. Participants get to service their own bike with the guidance of professionals.

Kontiolahti Outdoor's announcement 28 September 2021

Kontiolahti Outdoor organizes a one-night bike maintenance training at the end of October at the Kontiolahti Biathlon Stadium. The background is the increase in the number of mountain bikers. Cycling has also become an almost year-round hobby more than before.

—The increase in the number of enthusiasts can also be seen in the fact that ancillary services are being devised around mountain biking. Training that offers tips on bike maintenance is one example, says Kontiolahti Outdoor CEO Kimmo Turunen.

Hand-holding tips from a professional

In the three-hour training, there are two trainers who do bike maintenance for work.

—The training is aimed at enthusiasts who want to get reassurance and tips on cleaning and maintaining their own bike. There are two professionals who are able to guide the participants practically by the hand, says Turunen.

Participants bring their own mountain bike to the training, which they maintain during the evening.

—If getting to know your own fleet has so far been weaker, now is a great opportunity to do so when you have professionals nearby to ask for advice.

Trainer's promise: "Basic maintenance made easy"

Hannu Huttunen, who teaches bike maintenance in the training, from Iikan Pyörävariko says that every enthusiast can learn the basics themselves.

— Basic bike maintenance is easy after a little familiarization. Cleaning and maintenance of the fleet extends the life of the bike. At the same time, the hobby becomes more pleasant when the equipment works, says Huttunen.
